About Us
Maple Grove Primary School is located in the growing community of Battle Ground, serving approximately 600 children in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Students come from a predominantly Caucasian population, although there are small numbers of students from families of Asian, Hispanic, African-American, and American Indian descent. A percentage of our students are on free or reduced lunch, approximately l2 percent are served in special education programs, and 2 percent have been identified for highly capable program services. Change in Kindergarten Calendar
In an effort to balance the disproportionate number of missed days due to late starts, the district has made a change to the kindergarten calendar for the balance of this school year. Effective May 12, 2012, the last day of attendance for PM kindergartners will be June 13th. AM and full-day kindergartners will attend through June 15th. Click here for a copy of the revised kindergarten calendar.
State Waives Snow Make Up Days
The state has excused the Battle Ground School District from having to make up instructional days missed due to bad weather this past winter. The last day of classes in all schools will be Friday, June 15, as originally scheduled. June 14 and 15 are early release days. More information is available in the linked Press Release.
Construction to Affect Bus Routes
Beginning around April 1st, construction will begin to open SW 20th Ave to Hwy 503 via the new Scotton Way connection. The project will be straight across from Scotton Way on SW 20th Ave. Petermann will have to detour some buses around the construction project that will take place Monday through Friday starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. and extended through the end of this school year. This project is not supposed to close the road, but SW 20th Ave will be down to one lane of traffic and we have been advised to expect delays. Petermann will be handing out a construction notice to students on the affected bus routes.
